You will need to call our care coordination team in advance through the Primestin Care app in order to be set up with a primary care, specialist or urgent care visits. You can access telemedicine visits in the Primestin Care app 24/7 without needing to call the care coordination team first.

Common specialists we will add to our partner list are OBGYN’s, Pediatricians, Dermatologists, Allergists, Ortho, Psychiatrists, and Endocrinologists. Other specialists not listed above may be approved. Call our care coordination team through the Primestin Care app for more information.
We do allow for virtual specialist visits. Many times, a member requests a specialist that also does telemedicine services for their patients. The specialist visit fee of $50 still applies, and the booking of the appointment follows the same process for in person visit approvals. 24/7 Telehealth
Unlimited virtual visits 24/7 with no consultation fee. Skip the wait at the doctor’s office and get care from home.
Mental Health
Virtual mental health services to get the convenient help that you need with Talkspace
- 3 months of access to a licensed therapist
- Two virtual visits per month and regular text
- Audio and video messaging to your therapist for an additional $50 each month
- After 3 months, you can do this at a rate of $200 per month.
Note: Psychiatrists are specialists and therefor subject to the $50 copay
Imaging & Labs
- $250 allowance for labwork.
Skip the emergency room for x-rays and scans, if your condition is not a life threatening medical need the 24/7 practitioners can order labs* or the imaging you need. The self pay rate will apply to your IUA. Example: if you get an MRI and pay $300 out of pocket, and the medical need requires surgery, you will now pay $700 for the surgery. You applied $300 to count towards this medical need.
ER/Urgent Care
This plan offers a $1000, $2500 or $5000 IUA, this is the amount you would be responsible for if you need a surgery or hospitalization. This is up to 3x in a calendar year.
Example: If you choose the $1,000 IUA and you break your leg and need surgery, medical expenses total $10,000. Your cost for this medical need is capped at $1,000. including follow-up care, provider visits and physical therapy, if needed
TIP: If you select the $5,000 IUA, you may be saving monthly, but if your family has 3 major medical years in a year that totals $15,000 out of pocket.
Maternity
Each membership has an IUA (Initial Unshareable Amount). This is your financial responsibility for each medical need shared with the community. Your IUA amount was selected when you registered with Zion HealthShare. Your IUA must be paid before the Zion HealthShare community can share in any maternity-related services.
Home Births
Home births typically incur fewer expenses. If the costs are significantly lower for a home
birth than for a hospital birth and the member is under the care of a licensed care provider,
Zion HealthShare may partially waive the IUA for a maternity sharing request.
RX
The Zion RxShare service provides significant savings on medications. You will have access to 800 generics for $5, and many other medications for $15.

High Cost Medical Expenses
You will be connected with a primary care, specialist or urgent care provider in your area and pay the designated copay.
There are no network limitations. Members can go to any healthcare provider within the US and Puerto Rico. The healthcare provider must be a licensed medical professional in the location where services are received and provide medically necessary evaluations and treatment to be considered eligible for sharing.

Alternative Care

Various therapeutic services that fall under alternative and integrative therapies are covered, including:
- Acupuncture
- Craniosacral therapy
- Dry needling
- Ozone treatments
- Prolotherapy
- Alternative infusion therapies
- Chiropractic treatments provided by licensed chiropractors
- Massage therapy from licensed massage therapists
- Physical therapy performed by licensed physical therapists
It’s important to note that if a member chooses alternative or integrative medical practices, sharing for the same medical need may be limited if the member decides to return to traditional care methods.

Pre-Membership
A pre-membership medical condition is any illness or injury for which a person has been examined, been diagnosed, taken medication, had symptoms, or received medical treatment within the 24 months prior to their membership start date.
High blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, high blood pressure, are not considered pre-membership medical conditions as long as the member has not been hospitalized for the condition in the 12 months prior to joining, and the member is able to control the condition through medication or diet and exercise.
Please Note: pre-membership medical conditions may still qualify for sharing through the Additional Giving fund.

While insurance has max out of pockets and deductibles, indipop plans have IUA’s, Initial Unshareable Amount. The IUA follows the medical need rather than the calendar year. So, if you break your leg in December, you don’t pay for it again in January, unlike a deductible which would start at $0 in January.
